Tjerk is an all-round fighter with roots in Freefight. He is a complete fighter and he masters stand-up as well as ground fighting.

In Vikingfight II he was up against Mikkel Guldbæk from Denmark in a Mixfight match. It was a good fight with lots of action but trouble involving Tjerk's corner men resulted in his disqualification.
